Description
This piece is an antique Japanese Kutani porcelain charger from the 19th-century Meiji period, featuring traditional aka-e (red-and-gold) hand-painted decoration. It displays dense rouge-de-fer (iron red) enamel accented with fine gold linework, a hallmark of Kutani ware. The central medallion depicts a scholar or figure in a landscape with a pine tree, surrounded by geometric latticework, stylized maple leaves, and floral motifs along the rim.
Condition: There are a couple production flaws as seen in detail photo, but no major cracks or issues. This charger is in good condition with wear consistent with its age and use.
