Description
This is a Japanese blue and white porcelain charger. The style of ceramic, known as Sometsuke, is characterized by underglaze blue designs on a white background. In East Asian culture, rabbits are deeply connected to the moon through the legend of the "Moon Rabbit," which was believed to live on the moon with a toad and a katsura tree.
In good condition with surface wear consistent with age and use, no cracks or major flaws. There is a rough spot on the left rabbit and dark spot on foliage, shown in detail pictures.
