Description
This Japanese blue and white porcelain charger features a central Shishi(mythical lion-dog) surrounded by a dense Karakusa(scrolling vine) pattern and a distinctive scalloped rim.
The six blue characters on the bottom of this porcelain piece read “Da Ming Chenghua Nian Zhi”(大明成化年製), which translates to "Made during the Chenghua reign of the Great Ming dynasty" (1465–1487).However, this is widely considered an apocryphal mark.
In very good condition with surface wear consistent with age and use, no cracks or major flaws
