18th Century Hu Vessel
Description
This late 18th, early 19th-century Chinese bronze vase, features gold and silver inlay. The Hu form vessel, includes archaic taotie (mythical mask) motifs and stylized animal-head handles. These ceremonial items were crafted in an archaic style to emulate ancient ritual bronzes from the Han and Shang dynasties.
This vessel is in good condition with no major cracks or flaws, it shows wear consistent with its age and use.
