Pair of Early Qing Dynasty Ducati Pots With Aftermarket Gilt Bronze Candelabra Inserts
Description
These candelabra are comprised of early Qing Ducai porcelain pots with geranium gilt bronze inserts and simple bases. The pots were likely intended for the domestic Chinese market, and the inserts were probably added at a later date for the western market. Ducai porcelain is identifiable by the underglaze blue clearly outlining the enameled design which is filled in by other colors.
These candelabra are in very good, original condition. There are several firing flaws, a couple minor losses and some damage and repairs. The most noteworthy crack is depicted in the photographs. The condition is consistent with the age and use of the objects. The candle cups unscrew.
Dimensions: 5 x 5 x 10” height
